With time on my hands I have going to try and do a few blogs for the website. Here are my tips on de cluttering your wardrobe. I want you to keep the words ‘my lifestyle” to the forefront of your mind, and organize your wardrobe accordingly.
You couldn’t face doing this for a whole afternoon so I would say do 30 minutes each day and by the end of the week you will be all organized. Get a spare bed in your house or a clean floor space to lay out each bundle. Go through each drawer, shelf and hanging space adding each piece to one of the 6 bundles below. You may need to tweak a bundle name for your lifestyle.
Some pieces might cross over with other bundles. Just put the piece, in the bundle you would use it mostly in. Then sort each bundle into Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. When you put these pieces back, keep the Spring Summer pieces to the forefront, as that is what you are going to be wearing for the next few months. Maybe you might assign a drawer to each bundle. For me I hang workwear, weekend wear and out out/occasion wear, with workwear been the most accessible as this is what I wear mostly, followed by weekend and then occasion wear. Active wear and holiday wear have separate drawers.
Remember at all times keep the words my lifestyle to the forefront.
Bundle 1. Workwear
Do you dress formal, smart casual, wear a uniform, or is it anything goes, in the work place? Maybe you work mostly from home. Bundle these entire pieces together and have a look through them. Think how your lifestyle is going to be for the next year and how will fit these pieces into this bundle. Maybe you’re on maternity leave; your work bundle is not going to be used for a while. You might be in the frame of mind that that is not going to fit me anymore but if you liked wearing it, and it’s still in good nick keep it and you can look at this bundle with fresh eyes in 6 months’ time. Or maybe you have retired from you job so you might be able to use pieces that you had for work in a new way.
Bundle 2. Weekend wear.
Do you hang out with the kids at the weekend, catch up with friends for lunch, and go hillwalking or a combination of all three? I think it’s nice to have a few pieces at the weekend that you don’t wear to work. It helps you switch off from work. You might like to wear more casual pieces at the weekend if you dress up for work or vice a versa.
Bundle 3. Active wear.
Are you part of a class during the week, spin, Zumba, yoga. Or do you prefer to go for a run, walk, and a cycle? Sometimes this bundle can be makeup of old crappy bits that we think will do for active wear, but like all clothes if they don’t fit well you never going to fully enjoy the exercise. For most of us, exercise can be tough to do each week. So it’s nice to do a good declutter in this bundle too. Go through them, you don’t need 20 leggings for yoga if you go once a week.
Bundle 4. Out Out wear / occasion wear.
Do you like to hit the tiles every Saturday night? Or maybe a few date nights a year is what you do. It’s always nice to have a few flirty tops / dresses / good fitting trousers or a funky skirt for these occasions. I think in this bundle you can add those bits you don’t wear a lot but are always handy to have. I was doing a wardrobe de clutter for a customer recently. This lady has a vivacious personality .Under this bundle; we had to put together looks for funerals. She said “Marie when you will be my age, this will be part of your social outings and it is great to have a few pieces at hand”. I must say we put together a really nice funky collection, keeping this person’s vibrant lifestyle in mind.
Bundle 5 – holiday wear.
The bits we take on holidays but would never wear at home. The dress that is a little short for you, but you loves to wear on holidays. You might like to go on a few short city breaks and have the perfect jeans and tees for this kind of break. Bundle you holiday pieces together and put them on a higher shelve or bottom drawer. You don’t use them a lot but they are part of your life style.
Bundle 6.... Clothes that don’t work anymore.
We all have them , clothes that don’t fit you , clothes that don’t fit into your life style, clothes that are beyond repair ( but keep a few , as they are always good for when you put tan on or do some DIY jobs 😉) . In this bundle, there will be pieces that you will never depart with and I think these are important to keep. I have the top I wore the first time I meet my husband or the dress I wore when I brought home my first baby. I think it’s nice to keep things as they will transport you back to a special time or may be an heirloom someday. So get a nice box and store them away. You don’t need them in your wardrobe full time.
Then pack up the rest; give to friends & family, a local ladies refuge centre or charity shop. It is important to give clean, good condition clothes to charity organization. Don’t give clothes that are torn or beyond repair. Pack these separately as charity shops can sell them for weight.
So there it is my wardrobe de clutter from a different view. Next time I will talk about shoes, accessories, underwear drawers. Roman wasn’t built in a day……….
Hello lovely ladies,
Hope all is good with you. I am so over this weather and with St. Patrick's day upon us, the summer is coming. The days are going to get longer , drier and warmer so lets be ready!
Today I am wearing this beautiful casual denim shirt from Part Two. A classic in every wardrobe is a denim shirt but I love the little twists to this one. The small stand collar is easy to wear and easy to keep make up free. The tie cuff detail is just beautiful and the sleeve is just a little shorter than usual. We have beautiful hultquist jewellery in store that I have like to layer with a sleeve like this. Can't wait to wear this with white jeans in the summer.
Don't delay ladies, this beauty won't last long. Remember we offer free shipping too.
Enjoy the long weekend. We are closed Saturday and Monday. Looking forward to a long weekend.
Is there any one our there??
I know I have really neglected our website throughout 2017. It was just so busy in store. However new year and all that jazz, I am going to keep on top of the website more. I will be doing monthly blogs and emails about what new in store and on line , what to look out for in the season ahead, some cool styling tips and lots lots more.
If you have not added your email address to our list go ahead and do it. On the home page down at the bottom is where you subscribe. All you need to do is add your email address and you are on our list.
Just to let you know I have added some great new pieces from White Stuff so pop along to New In to see all the amazing pieces and that has just arrived. They are in store too if you want to pop into us.
My favourite piece so far is the Stripe dress. It's fresh, comfy to wear and looks so fab with tights and boots at the moment. This beauty won't last long. Remember we offer FREE delivery in Ireland.
So look that is the first of many blogs for 2018.
Morning are busy. Like me, you might have kids to get ready for school, maybe you have a long commute in the morning or you like to hit the gym before work. But one thing we all have in common is, time is not on our side! This blog is about a few of my favourite pieces for work. Hopefully by having your wardrode organised you won't be wasting time on what to wear! After all every minute counts in the morning.
A good dress is always handy to have in the wardrobe. I love this one because it has sleeves and is nice and room around the tummy area. It is so comfortable to wear all day. Looks great with ankle boots at the moment and later on with wedges. Kyra and Ko is a great work wearlabel, great dresses, trousers and jackets options that you can mix and match easily together.Check out some more options here Dresses or pop in store for a wider range.
I also like to mix and match a few pieces. Navy is one of my favourite colours for bottoms. So a nice pair of jeans, a navy skirt or trouser and you can mix a match easily. Keep the same bottom colour and you can change the look with a few tops. I like the blue shirt for more formal wear. A cute tee is always great for a dressed down day with your jeans and some funky jewellery.
A dressy top is a must, maybe you might be heading out after work and so this Part Two top will work from day to evening. This top works really well with a white vest underneath. It has a real 70's vibe to it without it been too trend driven!! Here is a link to all the tops we have on line Tops
So there is a few looks and tips to help you in the morning and one more tip - decide what you are wearing the night before! Hope your working day is going well.
I cannot believe this is my first blog of 2017. Where did January go too? Thankfully we were busy here in Sola HQ, selling off the sale stock and getting our new stock organised. Sola is now stocked with beautiful spring stock and I am delighted to say customers are loving it with certain pieces already sold out. Have a quick look at our New In section.
Trends and looks for Spring 2017 are beginning to appear.
The shirt / blouse is back big time.
Pink is the colour of the season, all shades of it!
Coloured jeans / cuff offs will be very much your go to piece this season.
Embroidery is very big. I think it can be a bit loud and some of it is very colourful. But small little details on tops or jumpers do look lovely.
For this post I am quickly going to show you the first trend I mentioned - The shirt/ blouse.
First up is this layering one from No 2mor. We run these shirts all year round and are perfect for your Spring wardrobe as they are a nice layering piece. The come in white, cream and black. They have a big collar and wide cuff detail. They are beautiful under sweaters, or layering under a sleeveless dress. as they is no bulkiness with them. We stock them in three colours, white , cream and black. You will buy one colour and comeback for the others.
Next up is a white shirt from Part Two. This season they have updated their white shirt with the granddad / stand collar detail. This shirt is crisp white and is such a statement piece. It would be one of my top 5 pieces for my Spring wardrobe. I just adore the way it is styled here with the wide leg jeans and the silk scarf. We will have some of these scarves in next week and we have the jeans in stock now.
The final blouse I am going to show you is a more casual piece - the lovely stripe cotton version. Such a great weekend piece, layer it with a white vest for now and pop it on over your jeans. Nothing says Spring has arrive that a pretty stripe top .
So there you go, some piece to kick start your Spring wardrobe. We have more blouse/shirt options in store so if you don't see something on line do pop into see us.
I don't know wheather it's an age thing or life been busy but I can not believe another season is almost coming to an end and Sola is begining to look at sales ! Some stock is now on sale in Sola and I have added new lines to our Sale section. Sizes are limited so be sure to get in there quick. Here are just a few of my favourite pieces now on sale.
I love the ditsy print on this Part Two top. This top is quite light in handle and looks great under a blazer or tucked inside a skirt for work. I love navy as we move into Spring, just a break away from black and this little buy is the perfect top to carry you into Spring. Now 50% off.
Next up is this mock turtle neck. This piece is an great alternative to the scarf. If you like turtle neck sweater but don't like the bulkiness under your coat , well this piece is just what you are looking for. Pop it on over you head as a scarf to keep snug as a bug this winter. It comes in a rust/reddish colour too. Again with 50% off , this is a great buy. Something new and fresh to add to your wardrobe.
Final piece I am going to talk about is this bag and it's at a steal for 20 euro. This is a great work bag, big enough to fit the kitchen sick in so to speek. I love the gold detail againist the black, it makes it look a lot more expensive.
So they are my picks for this week. Remeber delivery is free for the month of December and last date we will send out pieces for Christmas delivery is Monday the 19th. After this date parcels will be sent out but we are not guaranting Christmas delivery.

This year we have developed our website, which has been very exciting. I think with everyone's lives so busy now, it help, to be able to pop onto our website and see what is new in store. However I will alway be a foot through a door shopper, so our actual store will alway have a way more to offer than our website! But I am sure as my online customers develop, you will keep me on my toes and so the website will get bigger and better!
Best of luck with your Christmas shopping, just remeber to try and shop local where you can!

There is then a great splash of colour from the magenta in the middle. There is also a navy mix and grey mix available.
Next up is a La Bougie candle. We have 6 options in store and online. My favourite this week is Mission Fig. I like to stock up on these candles so if you are do a bit of Christmas visiting, you will always have one handy to wrap and take with you. There is always too much drink and food, so a gift of a La Bougie candle is a nice alternative.

With the festive season fast approaching, lots of customers are picking up some gifts for Christmas. This week I am going to quickly do the 3 most popular gifts so far.

With the temperature dipping dramatically this week, lots of customers are looking towards cosy accessories. Love this matching cap and chunky scarf from Not Made Up, a beautiful accessory label from Copenhagen. This set is in two colourways, grey/pink/black or navy/khaki/grey.
2 - Next up is a Slang hangbag.
All the ways from Barcelona , these handbags have created quite a stir since their arrival. They are functional, hardwearing stylish day bags . Few options on line and for a wider selection pop in store. Loving the mid size dark carbon options.
3 - Socks in a box for men.
My final pick for this week is something for the man in your life!. The bamboo socks in a box . These socks are beautiful crafted by Braintree, with 4 pairs per box, his twinkle toes love them.
Have you started your Christmas shopping? Hope this list will be a help, will post more ideas next week.
It has been another busy week here in Sola Boutique, with lots of gift ideas for the festive season now in store and on line. Here is the link to our Gift ideas section. One of my favourite products to arrive this week, is the La Bougie candle and diffusers.
Made in Ballinspittle here in West Cork, La Bougie launched in the summer of 2012 by Lucy Hagerty. Lucy had a illustrious career as a chef in the UK to the Duchess of York, Sarah Fergerson. After she married an Irish man, had children and eventually settled here, what she wanted to do was to create the perfect candle. ‘I think food, taste and smell are quite similar,’ she says. She spent eight years learning the secrets of the perfume world and a further two learning how to create the candles herself.
I am currently burning Sweet Pea and Pear and this is an ideal candle to light when you want to sit down and relax for an hour with a good book.
If you want to be taken back to your summer holidays, on these cold November days, then I suggest Honeysuckle and sea salt. This is a beautiful scent, that will transport you back to happy carefree summer days.
The room diffuser is new to Sola Boutique this year. If you like to have your favourite space scented these diffusers last up to 6 months. I do love the Mission Fig one best.
Do yo have a La Bougie candle or diffuser? What is your favourite one?
